Inspired by the simple concessions that make living every bit more pleasant, I present to you the new ND.com

A while ago while emailing a close friend of mine (how lovely and quaint did that sound?); I told her about the shame I felt regarding my penchant for procrastination.

“I feel like God is scolding me about putting off things too long,” I wrote using what was definitely questionable grammar, “and now I’m trying to get serious with that.” I finished.

Rather than judge me for my poor expression, perhaps knowing that I had typed out the message in a rush, she did what friends do and wrote me back a sufficiently encouraging tone. God is on your side, she said, waiting to cheer you on as you drive towards success. I smiled reading that. Yet all the same, I could still sense His scolding forefinger being waved before me.

Tsk tsk, it seemed to say. Get on with it, girl!

So here I am, getting on with it. El-procrastinator (read with a sharp Spanish inflection), is no more. Start up with the rhyming cheers, if you please. Say, out with the old, in with the new. The sun is out and the sky is blue. Yadda yadda em-pe-na-das…!

I’ll grant you that it is looking rather sparse around here. But the new design—oh how I love the design!—one column and snazzy as can be, should more than make up for the tumbleweeds blowing about these parts. The truth is that for the longest time I had been angling for the simple look that comes with such an in-your-face layout, a desire that on a surface level prompted this need for change. On the other hand, I did want to deliver a more professional slant on proceedings, balancing out my incessant ramblings with more easily digestible fare. In short, a lifestyle site is what I was (am), going for, and a lifestyle destination this will become.

Inspired by the simple concessions that make living every bit more pleasant: open windows in the mornings, the feeling of freshly washed hair, the smell of rain just before it hits the ground, instrumental music playing in one’s ear, and the rush that comes with chasing my nieces around, to name a few; the new ND.com will aim to explore and radiate aspects of this same 'simplify, be' philosophy, within each post published from here on out.

Therefore quoting one wise P!nk, I’m coming up so you better get this party started! Sign up to get posts via email HERE, or subscribe to my blog’s feed on Bloglovin' HERE. Keep your eyes peeled for more to come, not-so-subtle title references to hobbits withstanding, and let’s get this party started!
